Answer:
It is actually satisfying. It does take a little bit to get used to because you are going to feel odd that there isn’t any smoke, you don’t have to light it, and you don’t need an ashtray. But you can still blow smoke rings.
The electronic cigarette is like a regular cigarette… one size does not fit all. There are several different styles that are available. You can also choose your strength of nicotine and your flavor. If you are looking to “step down” you can go to zero nicotine. If you are only looking for a change or the ability to smoke where bans are upheld, then this is an excellent option.
There is a company called Johnson’s Creek and they produce FDA approved nicotine e-liquid. With this, you will take your nicotine cartridge and refill it with 3-5 drops of the e-liquid. It comes in all flavors. They currently offer empty cartridges for both the pen style and the mini. The mini looks most like a cigarette (link to a photo of it taken apart) http://www.e-cig.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/ecigapart2.thumbnail.jpg
There is a lot of information out there. The e-cigarette-forum mentioned above is having issues today (I think there have been a lot of visitors lately). We do write quite a bit so feel free to visit our blog and have a view http://www.e-cig.org. And of course, if you have any more questions… just ask! Most e-smokers are pretty happy and are happy to help you.
Hi, both of my parents are heavy smokers and i’ve tried to help them quit but they always go back to the nasty habits of smoking. I’ve heard about the electronic cigarette and I wanted to know if I bought one for my parents would it help the quit. Even if it doesn’t help them quit is it better for them to just smoke using the electric cigarette rather than an actual one?
Answer:
Some say that using electronic cigarettes can help you quit smoking.
By switching to ecigs you would certainly quit smoking tobacco cigarettes with tar and 1000s of carcinogens.
To end your addiction to nicotine you have two options with ecigs:
One option is to gradually lower the level of nicotine in your cartridges to become nicotine and tobacco free.
The other option is to smoke electronic cigarettes with zero nicotine cartridges while applying nicotine patches. That way you separate addiction and habit.
Here is a forum
http://www.ecigarettes365.com/forum/quit
in which some folks that shared their quitting experience with e-cigarettes.
Hi, I’ve been looking to purchase an e-cigarette from some time now and I’m looking for suggestions. I would like to have one that is under 0, produces a fair amount of vapor, and looks like a real cigarette.
Answer:
There are really only a couple different models of electronic cigarettes out there and all the different brands you see are just those few types in different packaging. What I think is the best one is a Joye 510 (that’s not a brand name, that’s a manufacturer name and model number). Many vendors sell them (sometimes just referred to as the “510″).
Cignot.com has a cheap, no-frills 510 starter kit (only ), but there are other vendors with competitive pricing too. I buy my e-cig parts from Cignot, so I know they’re a very reliable vendor. They also sell a small selection of prefilled cartridges and liquid for refilling, but there are other vendors that sell better liquid (I buy my liquid from JohnsonCreek.com).
There’s a lot to learn when you first get started and lots of vendors. It can be overwhelming and confusing and you can end up spending a lot of money on crappy products if you don’t research a bit first. I recommend spending doing some reading at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ (I think it’s *the* best message board about e-cgis you’ll find – very informative and everyone is helpful).
Good luck!
I just bought an blu electronic cigarette and want to smoke it on a jet, could i just put it in my pocket and carry it on or what?
Answer:
I agree with owen E, but i heard some airlines don’t let you use them, but the in bathroom is a great idea.
I really need to give up smoking, it is killing me. I heard about these E cigs… I want to give them a try. How much do these cost and where can i buy them. In the store? Do I have to buy online?
Does anyone know how effective these are? I would hate to waste money on something that wont work. I think that if I have the cigarette in hand and feel like I am actually smoking I can kick the unhealthy cigarettes and use these e cigs and save my life… I think that they should start considering putting these in stores across america, this really could help people out.
Answer:
I’ve had an electronic cigarette for about a week, and really like it. I got it at a mall kiosk, and they let me try one before buying. I think it cost about for everything, and I’ve only gone through a couple of the five cartidges.
I really like cigarettes, so I haven’t stopped smoking them, but I have cut _way_ back, and only smoke when I enjoy it.
They do vary in quality. A guy let me take a drag off one he bought on the internet, and it did give more vapor than the one I bought. But I’m very satisfied with mine, and I’ll definitely be “vaping” more than I smoke.
was wondering has anybody tried the electronic cigarette. what would be the best starter kit and did you find it helped you quit smoking?
Answer:
Has anyone tried the american blue tip electronic cigarette? I’m thinking of getting one. Not sure if it’s worth it. If you’ve bought one I would be glad to hear how you like it. Thanks!
Answer:
No but a teacher I had uses it. He was a heavy smoker, but the minute he bought it it seemed to work excellently. We would go to class and would see him puffing on water vapor lol. At least he was getting the nicotine. His health improved greatly. It seems that it is a great alternative to smoking. Much healthier for your lungs. It comes in different flavors too I believe. Hope it all works out
I’m looking into getting an electronic cigarette, but i would like to buy one with a new atomizer in each cartridge. what brands offer this and are they much more expensive?
Answer:
The only ones you can get with a built in atomizer is the disposable e cigarettes like these http://www.ecigarettesnational.com/disposable-e-cigarettes/gamucci-elite-disposable-electronic-cigarette/
They generally range from about 19 to 22 bucks depending on where you get them.
If you are having trouble with atomizers, why not get a quality e cigarette starter kit like Gamucci http://www.ecigarettesnational.com/e-cigarette-starter-kits/gamucci-micro-starter-kit/
Mine has lasted for over 60 days so far and I have not had the first problem with it. I have had top replace the smoking everywhere and the njoy and several other brands atomizers.
I think Gamucci has the best quality, it has outlasted the others 2 to 1.
I want to try an electric, smokeless, cigarette.
There seems to be several different varieties.
I was wondering if you, Y!answerers, have tried any of these and would like to share your experiences. What do you like of dislike about the product.
Also, I have heard about free trials on these products. Can you show me where to find them?
thanks canux, I was hoping to hear good experiences. But if the product is not good, I don’t expect I will.
Answer:
I would recommend you do a little research on them as there are way more than just “several varieties”.LOL There are reviews on youtube and you can read up on them on forums like vapersforum.com and e-cigarette-forum.com there are others out there also. Unbranded forums are an excellent source of info because they aren’t pushing one brand of e-cig on you. You can get info on a wide variety of models from actual users and not salesmen. Models and prices vary a great deal from like for a kit to over 0 so you really want to know what it is you want out of it.
I smoked for over 30 years and had little difficulty switching over to an e-cig and I wasn’t looking to quit. Just to try to cut the costs and or cut down. There is a learning curve with them but you’ll catch on quickly. Especially with help on forums.
If you are dead set on trying one first you might try checking with SmokingEverywhere – I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING THEIR PRODUCT – but – see if they have a kiosk in a mall near you. They will let you try it there. DO NOT BUY IT! Its a pretty cheap model at an inflated price but you will get the idea on an e-cig.
And as mentioned – stay away from the free trials or free e-cigs… major rip off. Also deal extreme has some for around .00 – stay away from those too. They usually don’t work at all and isn’t worth the return postage to send it back.
Also, does anyone know if that rechargable carrying case from the “Blu” electronic cig company would also work for the Red Dragon brand or is that a different design? Does anyone know of a rechargable carrying case that works for the Red Dragon or Green Smoke brand?
Answer:
Hi!
The battery life of the Red Dragon ecig and Green Smoke ecig are pretty much the same. After all they are compatible. The blu cig on the go charger does not fit Red Dragon or Green Smoke ecigs. The blu ecig is smaller in radius and simply different.
I am not aware of any other brands with rechargable carrying case.
For best battery life I would recommend the Cirrus ecig. It is a little longer and the battery life is much better. See here for user ratings:
